The Session felt it its duty for the honor of the Church to inquire into a report supposed to have been circulated by Michael Morrison touching the character of John Lyons, one of the Elders of the Church, namely, that the said Lyons had been guilty of crime too bad to be told. On investigation of the subject it appeared that at a previous meeting called for the purpose of settling the difficulty the said Morrison denied that he ever circulated such a report but on a more mature deliberation when he appeared before us he acknowledged that he had made such a statement and that he was heartily sorry for it and promised to strive to do better in future. Whereupon, the Session recommended that the proceedings and acknowledgement be read from the Pulpit as soon as practicable. Adjourned. Closed with prayer.
